This slot is pure old-school Aristocrat, everything from the playing card symbols to the sounds and the simple yet effective game play are trademarks of the Australian slot making giant. The theme involves a Pelican with his beak pouch full of coins. The sea features heavily, with treasure chests and a lighthouse. As with most Aristocrat slots, the main draw is the free spins feature round. This involves sticky wilds (which makes it stand out from many games by this maker), and can result in some big wins. The look and feel is decidedly retro for this game, with a plain yellow background to the reels. The graphics are plain, blocky and old-school – though they do have some basic animations when involved in a win line. The sounds are the default Aristocrat bleeps, clicks and happy ‘winning tunes’. While I get that this is a signature for this company, they are sounding more and more dated with every year that goes by. Sticky wilds do help the bonus round stand out from the usual simple free spins features. You can end up with entire reels covered in Pelican Pete, which means that every spin will bring you multiple wins. This slot has 50 lines, so there is scope for wins coming in all over the place.
