Dice gambling rules
  1. Mar 29, 2019 While the best known game of chance with dice may be craps, in both its casino and street forms, other gambling games that use a pair of dice include Hazard, ‘’Cho-Han Bakuchi,’’ Under-Over 7, Mexico, and Shut the Box.
  2. Online gambling dice games are called games of chance, as random events decide their outcomes. These events may be a card turn, a roulette wheel shake, or a dice roll. These are all things over which you have no control, and in essence, you have no power over whether you win or lose.
  3. Playing Bitcoin dice is extremely simple, and is comparable to many other simple BTC gambling games. In a dice Bitcoin game, players choose a number between 1 and 100 and place a wager on whether a dice roll between the same numbers will roll above or below that number — it’s that simple.

Use the following virtual dice roller to mimic dice that have a different number of faces from the conventional 6-faced die. The most common physical dice have 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 20 faces respectively, with 6-faced die comprising the majority of dice. This virtual dice roller can have any number of faces and can generate random numbers simulating a dice roll based on the number of faces and dice.

A dice is typically a small, throwable object that has multiple faces (most commonly six) and possible positions that indicate a number (or something else), used for generating random numbers and events. They are typically used for tabletop games, which includes a wide variety of games, as well as for gambling. Examples of tabletop games that involve the use of dice include games like backgammon, Boggle, and Yahtzee, where dice are a central component of the game. Some other well-known tabletop games include Monopoly, Risk, Dungeons and Dragons, and Settlers of Catan. There are however, numerous others.

Dice shapes

The most commonly used dice shapes are shown in the image, and listed below.

  • Tetrahedron: 4 faces – the blue die
  • Cube: 6 faces – the orange, cubic die
  • Octahedron: 8 faces – the green die
  • Pentagonal trapezohedron: 10 faces – the orange, non-cubic die
  • Dodecahedron: 12 faces – the yellow die
  • Icosahedron: 20 faces – the purple die

Although the image shows some of the more common die shapes, there are many other polyhedral dice, or dice of other shapes. There are also non-numeric dice, dice that do not follow a counting sequence that begins at one, and spherical dice.

How random is a dice?

Based on probability, a die should have an equal probability of landing on each of its faces. However, this is not necessarily the case with mass produced dice as they cannot be truly random, since it is difficult to mass produce dice that are uniform, and there may be differences in the symmetry of the dice. Each dice, particularly d20 (20-sided polyhedral dice) and d8 (8-sided polyhedral dice) is often unbalanced, and more likely to roll certain numbers.

How to test how random your dice is:

Although it may not be the most accurate way to test how random your dice is, one relatively quick test you can do involves just a container, some water, and some salt:

Dice
  1. Get a container that can fit the die you want to test
  2. Fill the container with water, then add salt and the die to the water – if the die doesn't float, add more salt until the die floats
  3. Flick the die and take note of which side faces upwards – repeatedly flick the dice and record the results

For a well-balanced die, you can expect a variety of numbers. If it is not well balanced, you will be more likely to notice certain numbers occurring more often. However, unless this test is performed numerous times, or the dice is heavily unbalanced, the user is not likely to notice a significant difference.

There are a number of companies that manufacture dice, and some more rigorous tests (than the one described above) have been performed on dice manufactured by different companies in an effort to determine how truly random the dice (mostly d20 dice) are. These studies confirmed that even dice manufactured within the same company under the same conditions can vary significantly from each other, and are not truly random. Some companies produced dice that were more random than others, but even then, were not found to be truly random.

Virtual dice, like the one above, are almost always based on pseudo-random number generating algorithms, which are also not truly random. However, a virtual dice roll is likely more close to true randomness than most physical dice.

History and Importance of Bitcoin Dice

Did you know that this was the first gambling game on the Bitcoin network? Thanks to the powers that be, Bitcoin dice games are still to this day the cornerstone of the Bitcoin gambling industry.

These games didn’t only enable the development of Bitcoin gambling, but served to develop many other unique gambling features, and even highlighted some of the now widely known shortcomings of the Bitcoin network.

Here are a few interesting facts that you might not know:

  • The concept of provably fair gaming was developed through BTC dice games. The idea is that you can check the statistical likelihood of the outcome of every roll, to make sure that the provider is not manipulating the outcome.
  • Some of the biggest wallets belong to dice providers.
  • Some members of the Bitcoin network claim that the development of blockchain-dependent dice games was meant as a DDoS attack on the network.
  • The idea behind the DDoS theory – debunked now – is that the sheer volume of insignificant transactions that BTC dice game providers and players would engage in, would overload the network’s processing capacity.
  • In hindsight, although dice were never meant to be a DDoS attack on the Bitcoin network, it did highlight the now well-known block size problem.
  • The fact that operators and players alike pay the small network fees on every transfer, make them a legitimate and legal transaction. These transactions helped pave the way for the development of all bitcoin gambling activity.

Evolution After Satoshi Dice

After Satoshi Dice had such a huge success and took the whole network by surprise, Bitcoin dice games started becoming more sophisticated. Graphics were improved, sound was enhanced and many games started coming out with their own new unique twist, on top of the traditional shake and roll function. Nowadays these dice games are among the most entertaining games available for Bitcoin casino players, reaching a level of sophistication that was unthinkable a few years ago.

The Heritage of Bitcoin Dice

The development of BTC dice games, and features such as provably fair, have driven gaming developers into the Bitcoin scene. Now there are exclusive games designed only for Bitcoin users.

The fact that BTC dice games were the first games played on blockchain, highlights the great opportunity that this cryptocurrency has opened for players around the world. This allowed the industry to grow and take on markets that are completely blocked out from fiat currency gambling.

Secure gambling, unique games, truly free international transactions, high security features that make sure every roll is fair, and the lowest house edges in the online casino industry, make these games a great choice for entertainment. Come and try one of our recommended sites offering the top Bitcoin dice games and stand a chance to win the OG cryptocurrency!

  2. Passwords Strategy – this strategy involves doubling your wager when you win. After three consecutive wins or a loss, you should return to your original wager.
